Description
Red Shoe Pub, is a small traditional pub that has become a “home away from home” for many locals and visitors. The name of the pub originates from the Cape Breton fiddler Dan R. MacDonald. The fiddler had largely contributed to music and culture, leading to the pub being named after the first song he composed. The song is a traditional tune written about a woman who loved to highland step-dance in crimson stained shoes. Performances of the native Celtic music occur daily, sharing the culture of Nova Scotia. The kitchen also offers native foods such as local mussels, seafood chowder, salmon cakes, and hot pub pies. The pub always remains busy, regardless of the time of year. All the local gossip can usually be found at the Red Shoe Pub. Chatter from fae and humans alike usually hold the town’s secrets over a couple pints of beer.
